Can’t find the Jeff Miller and Richard Blumenthal Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2016? This doesn’t surprise me.
Since the beginning of the year, I have been indebted by phone calls and e-mails from Veterans asking me to help them find this law. Here is why it is hard to find:
- It is referenced as a footnote and
- It is a “Public Law”.
Jeff Miller and Richard Blumenthal Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2016 – Footnotes
There are a bunch of laws exclusive to Veterans called United States Code. Within this code are chapters or titles. Veterans should find Title 38.
Within this title and under sections 101 and 3684, we can find a footnote that tells veterans we can call Title 38 the “Jeff Miller and Richard Blumenthal Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2016”
Jeff Miller and Richard Blumenthal Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2016 – Public Law
Also, we can find this rule or law within a second document called “Public Law” 6416.
What does this mean for Veterans?
In reality, I am less concerned with a new title than I am about the substance and application of veterans laws as a whole.
As a result, forget the title and look for the rule that applies to your exact situation.
